Over the past decade I’ve created quite a few websites for people on a low cost budget, my aim is to create a website that they can fully edit themselves instead of coming back to a web designer every 5 minutes. I do this by using software such as WordPress, and in the past the CMS Etomite. This allows them complete flexibility on their sites, especially with the huge amount of WordPress plug-ins available!

While people may think it is taking the easy way out for a web designer to use a CMS, I would disagree! The number of man hours that goes into creating a CMS is far more than I could achieve in a life time. These people are the experts at what they do, and they are doing a much better job than I could ever do! 

It often still takes a semi-professional person to set up a CMS, its not easy for most people to set up web hosting, domain name, databases, upload and install web software!

2008

PWBeere: Created using WordPress, this is a newly created website for an accounting solutions firm.

Parents as First Teachers: This is a charity website created for Parents as First Teachers, recently updated to WordPress so that their staff can easily add recent news to the website.

Dave Television 8: DTV-8 is a Guyanese Television Station, with a broadcast audience of 90,000, and a potential online audience of 120,000+ in Guyana and hundreds of thousands of people living all over the world with Guyanese heritage. The site provides up to date TV listings for their station, as well as regular news summaries. They also have a large amount of information on Guyana and the spectacular Kaieteur Falls. This site was created using Etomite originally but since 2008 has been migrated to WordPress.

Guru Detailing: Guru Detailing is an Automotive or Car Detailing specialist in South Bucks, UK. It was created using WordPress, and the first site I created using WordPress! For those of you unaware of what detailing is, like myself when was first told the company name - Detailing is the process of giving a car a really really good clean and polish, using lots of expensive machinery, paints, polishes and wax - its not something you would do to your Vauxhall Astra, but perhaps your Ferrari 360 spider…

2007

King’s Wood School: King’s Wood School in High Wycombe is one of the many local primary schools in the area for both girls and boys. The website was created using Etomite as the CMS allowing teachers or admin staff to quickly add new content or school letters where appropriate. Although being built in 2007 the site officially only came online in June 2008 when the we finally managed to get the school URL pointing at the new website!

Transplant Trek: This site was an event site created for a man called Andy who had a successful liver transplant and wanted to give something back to the hospital that carried it out in way of a sponsored 3 peak challenge, the site is unfortunately no longer available online due to the completion of the challenge being over 2 years ago!

2006 and Before

Security Air Express: This site was one of the last to be made using the CMS Etomite before I decided to switch to WordPress. SAE Logistics is a Logistics and Transportation company based in Hertfordshire in the UK. They specialise in almost anything transport! Next Day, Same Day, Overseas, International Delivery!

Glass Doctors: Although due for a bit of a spring clean, Glass Doctors is one of the most successful sites on my Portfolio to date, this is mainly due to the owner who puts in an impressive amount of effort into his site, ensuring that he gets the Google listings he is after! A windscreen repair company based in South Bucks, the website now receives an impressive number of daily hits and a large number of people contact the website for information and to get their windscreen repaired!

Malcolm in the Middle Voting Community: Perhaps one of my favourite projects was this site, created in around 2003 it rapidly became one of the most successful Malcolm in the Middle fan sites on the Internet with an incredibly active forum powered by vBulletin. Unfortunately on going to university I felt I couldn’t dedicate enough time to the site anymore. It has now undergone a lot of face lifting since I created but there are still structures in place which I put in!

Barrys Accountants: One of the first websites I built Barrys Accountants is a website not surprisingly for an accounting firm.
