Making sure your website looks near enough the same all all the main browsers is something that should be on every webmasters mind, even if you choose only to use Internet Explorer 7 or Firefox 3 there are still hundreds of thousands of people out there who still choose to use the other one, or evenInternet Explorer 6, Firefox 2, Opera, Flock, Safari you name it there are loads, so many that you wouldn’t want to have them all on your computer to see what happens when you change the smallest part of your site. In fact I’m not sure if its even possible to get the earlier versions of certain browsers anymore! (Officially anyway)

Browsershots is a great website which allows you to get a screenshot of your site in every browser within a few minutes, saving you the hassle of downloading browsers and comparing yourself.

My main aim here is to only cater for the latest browser version Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 3, Safari 3.1 and Opera 9.51. But it is important to make sure that older versions of Firefox and Internet Explorer both are showing what you want them to show, you’d be surprised how many visitors we get to the blog who are still using IE6 and FF2!

After you submit your URL, your site is queued up and sent to multiple computers which have these different browsers on, then a screenshot is taken and uploaded to the server for you where if you choose you can download it. If not you can have them all discarded.
